2019 Volkswagen Arteon

The 2019 Volkswagen Arteon is a flagship five-door fastback executive sedan designed to replace the Passat CC. Built on Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB platform with a long 2,837mm wheelbase, the Arteon combines coupelike styling—highlighted by frameless door glass and a wide chrome grille integrating directly into the LED headlights—with fastback practicality. Under the hood, global markets received high-output variants of the 2.0-liter EA888 TSI 4-cylinder petrol engine (producing 190 PS up to 280 PS / ~268 hp) or a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Power is managed by a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission (or an 8-speed automatic in North American markets) paired with standard Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or Volkswagen’s 4Motion All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. Handling performance and ride comfort are enhanced by Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) electronically adjustable dampers. Inside, the cabin features VW’s 12.3-inch Digital Cockpit instrument cluster, an 8.0-inch or 9.2-inch Discover Pro touchscreen infotainment system, Nappa leather seating, three-zone automatic climate control, and a liftback tailgate revealing a generous 563-liter boot space.
