2017 Mazda Atenza

The 2017 Mazda Atenza (GJ/GL Mid-life Facelift Generation) is an executive mid-size sedan (also available as a Station Wagon) that blends Mazda’s signature "Kodo" design language with a low-compression, high-torque turbodiesel engine, sports-tuned chassis dynamics, and premium interior craftsmanship.Under the bonnet, the Atenza Diesel is powered by Mazda's 2.2-liter (2,191cc) Skyactiv-D Twin-Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Depending on market trim (such as XD, XD PROACTIVE, or XD L Package), it was offered in two output configurations: a standard 150 PS (148 hp) / 380 Nm variant and a higher-output 175–178 PS (173–175 hp) / 420 Nm variant. Power is sent to the front wheels (FWD) or optional i-Activ AWD via a 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. The 2017 model year integrated G-Vectoring Control (GVC), an active chassis technology that subtly adjusts engine torque during cornering to reduce body roll and improve steering stability. The twin sequential turbo setup yields strong torque delivery from as low as 2,000 rpm while maintaining exceptional fuel economy of 4.8L to 5.4L/100km (~18.5–20.8 km/L).
