The 2020 Mazda CX-30 (DM series) is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV bridging the gap between the smaller CX-3 and the larger CX-5. Built on Mazda’s Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture (shared with the Mazda 3 BP generation), the CX-30 incorporates Mazda’s updated "Kodo" design language—featuring sleek body panel reflections, dark cladding, and a premium cabin.Under the bonnet, the diesel variant is powered by the 1.8-liter SKYACTIV-D (S8-DPTS/S8-DPTR) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 116 PS (114 hp / 85 kW) and 270 Nm of torque. It pairs with a 6-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission (or 6-speed manual in select European markets) driving either Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or Mazda's i-ACTIV AWD system. Vehicle dynamics are managed by G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) to improve cornering stability and steering feel.The interior offers near-luxury refinement with soft-touch leatherette dashboard surfaces, an 8.8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display operated via a central Commander dial, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, an available 12-speaker Bose sound system, and a 430-liter boot capacity expanding to 1,406 liters with the 60/40 rear seats folded flat.
