The 2022 Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv D AWD (KH Generation) marks Mazda’s bold entry into the premium mid-size crossover SUV segment, debuting as the first vehicle built on the brand's all-new Large Product Group Architecture featuring a front-engine, longitudinal layout with rear-biased All-Wheel Drive. Adopting an evolved "KODO: Soul of Motion" design philosophy, the CX-60 showcases a long bonnet, set-back cabin, prominent front mesh grille with chrome Signature Wing, vertical LED daytime running light signatures, wide track width, and 18-inch to 20-inch alloy wheels. Trim levels typically range from the Exclusive-Line and sport-styled Homura to the top-tier Japanese/Takumi luxury specs. Under the bonnet, the CX-60 AWD features a newly engineered 3.3-liter (3,283cc) longitudinal inline 6-cylinder e-Skyactiv D turbocharged diesel engine integrated with Mazda’s M Hybrid Boost 48V mild-hybrid system. The high-output AWD variant generates 254 PS (251 hp / 187 kW) and a robust 550 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through an in-house developed 8-speed multi-plate clutch automatic transmission (lacking a traditional torque converter for direct acceleration feel) and sent to all four wheels via Mazda's rear-biased i-Activ AWD system. Inside, the cabin delivers benchmark Japanese craftsmanship with materials including Nappa leather, real maple wood trim, and woven textiles. Interior amenities feature dual 12.3-inch displays (a TFT digital driver cluster and a central Mazda Connect infotainment unit) managed via a rotary Commander dial, a windshield-projected Active Driving Display (HUD), wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) for cornering stability, and the innovative Driver Personalisation System that uses facial recognition to automatically adjust the driving position, mirrors, HUD, and climate settings.
