2015 Mazda CX5

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 2.2L Skyactiv-D Diesel (KE Generation Facelift) represents the updated phase of Mazda’s groundbreaking first-generation compact crossover. Introduced in early 2015, the mid-cycle facelift improved styling and cabin refinement, featuring a revised front grille with five horizontal metallic bars, upgraded projector LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, restyled LED taillights, redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels, and upgraded sound insulation throughout the chassis. Trim grades span from the entry-tier XD and mid-tier XD L Package to the sportier Proactive variants. Under the bonnet, the 2015 CX-5 is powered by Mazda’s low-compression 2.2-liter (2,188cc / 2,191cc) SH-VPTS Skyactiv-D sequential twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine. It produces either 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) with 380 Nm of torque or a higher-output tuning of 175 PS (173 hp / 129 kW) and 420 Nm of low-end torque. Power is delivered via a 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission (or 6-speed manual) to either Front-Wheel Drive (2WD) or Mazda’s proactive i-Activ AWD system. Inside, the 2015 facelift introduced a major cabin upgrade, introducing the MZD Connect 7.0-inch central touchscreen system with a rotary Commander Control dial, an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) replacing the traditional handbrake lever, redesigned climate control dials, heated leather seats, dynamic driving modes, and the expanded i-Activesense suite of driver assistance features.
