2022 Mazda CX5

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv-D Diesel (KF Generation Facelift) represents the mid-cycle design and technical evolution of Mazda’s top-selling compact crossover SUV. Updated for 2022, it features a refreshed front fascia with a bolder three-dimensional wing grille, redesigned front and rear bumper signatures, updated signature L-shaped LED headlight and taillight graphics, and new alloy wheel options. Exterior trim configurations range from the mid-tier Proactive and sport-styled Black Tone Edition / Field Journey to the top-spec L Package and ultra-luxurious Exclusive Mode. Under the bonnet, it is powered by Mazda’s refined 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D (SH-VPTS) twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) and a massive 450 Nm of low-end torque. Power is delivered via a 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission, available in Front-Wheel Drive (2WD) or Mazda's predictive i-Activ AWD system equipped with Off-Road Traction Assist. The 2022 update also introduced Mazda’s Mi-Drive (Mazda Intelligent Drive Select) system, allowing drivers to toggle between Normal, Sport, and Off-Road driving modes. Inside, the cabin features superior acoustic insulation (NVH) and redesigned seats for enhanced ergonomic support. Interior amenities include a 10.25-inch central Mazda Connect display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable heated and ventilated leather seats, a 10-speaker Bose Surround Sound system (optional), and standard i-Activesense active safety technology.
