2018 Mazda CX8

The 2018 Mazda CX-8 (KG series) is a mid-size 3-row crossover SUV positioned directly between the 5-seater CX-5 and the full-sized CX-9. Sharing the extended wheelbase platform of the CX-9 but retaining the narrower body width of the CX-5, the CX-8 was specifically created as Mazda’s flagship multi-seater crossover for markets where the larger petrol CX-9 was less practical. Under the hood is Mazda’s updated 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 450 Nm of torque. It features rapid multi-stage piezo injection and a variable geometry turbocharger to eliminate lag. Power is delivered via a 6-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission to either Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or Mazda’s predictive i-ACTIV AWD system, enhanced by G-Vectoring Control (GVC) for precise handling.The interior offers luxury-grade refinement with 6-seat (captain’s chairs in the 2nd row with center console) or 7-seat (60/40 bench) configurations. Standard and available equipment includes Nappa leather upholstery, genuine wood interior trim, a 7.0-inch MZD Connect infotainment display, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, tri-zone automatic climate control, and an electric tailgate.
