2021 Mazda CX8

The 2021 Mazda CX-8 (KG Series) is a mid-size 3-row crossover SUV engineered to bridge the gap between the smaller CX-5 and the larger CX-9. Utilizing Mazda's Kodo design language, it features the extended 2,930mm wheelbase of the CX-9 within a slightly narrower body profile (1,840mm), making it easier to maneuver through urban environments while retaining ample 6-seater or 7-seater interior capacity. Under the bonnet, the 2021 model is powered by an updated 2.2-liter SkyActiv-D twin-turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine, tuned to deliver up to 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) and 450 Nm of low-end torque. It pairs with a 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission available in Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive (AWD) with Off-Road Traction Assist. The engine's sequential dual-turbocharger design ensures linear power delivery and a combined fuel efficiency of 5.8 to 6.0 L/100km (~16.6–17.2 km/L). The 2021 update brings key interior and technological enhancements, notably an upgraded 10.25-inch Mazda Connect display managed via the central Commander Knob, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Depending on the trim, cabin configurations offer either a traditional 7-seat layout or a luxury 6-seat layout with second-row captain's chairs. Standard safety is anchored by Mazda's i-Activesense suite, including Smart City Brake Support (autonomous emergency braking), Blind Spot Monitoring, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Lane-Keep Assist.
