The 2019 Mazda Demio / Mazda2 (DJ Series Facelift) is a premium subcompact B-segment hatchback crafted around Mazda’s signature "KODO: Soul of Motion" design language. Updated for the 2019 model year with a mid-cycle refresh (which officially transitioned the Japanese market nameplate from "Demio" to "Mazda2"), it features a refined front trapezoidal mesh grille with a chrome wing surround, sleeker LED headlamps, updated front/rear bumpers, and a tight, sculpted hatchback silhouette. Trims include the 13S / 15S, 15S Proactive, and the top-tier 15S L Package. Under the bonnet, the 2019 petrol Demio phased out the early 1.3L unit in favor of the 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G (P5-VPS / P5-VPR) high-compression direct-injection 4-cylinder engine, outputting 110–116 PS (108–114 hp) and 141–144 Nm of torque. Power is delivered via a 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic or a 5/6-speed manual transmission, available in Front-Wheel Drive (2WD) or Mazda's i-Activ AWD system.Inside, the cabin features superior materials for its segment, equipped with a driver-centric cockpit layout, a 7.0-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display with commander control knob and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto support, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC+) for cornering stability, and standard i-Activesense driver assistance features on higher grades.
