The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4MATIC (W167 fourth-generation) is an executive mid-size luxury SUV that debuted a major generational overhaul for the GLE badge. Moving to Mercedes's Modular High Architecture (MHA) platform, the 2019 model features a longer wheelbase, streamlined body contours, standard dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpits, and an optional 5+2 seven-seat configuration. Under the bonnet, the entry-level 300d variant debuted Mercedes's 2.0-liter OM654 twin-turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine, generating 245 PS (241 hp / 180 kW) and 500 Nm of torque. Power is routed through a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission to the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive system. Suspended on standard steel coil springs (or optional AIRMATIC dual-chamber air suspension), the GLE 300d delivers efficient long-distance cruising dynamics. Inside, the cabin features the MBUX infotainment system with augmented reality navigation and "Hey Mercedes" voice control, dual-zone or four-zone THERMOTRONIC climate control, ambient lighting with 64 colors, and a 630-liter boot expanding to 2,055 liters with the second row folded flat.
