The 2022 Toyota Hilux GR Sport (AN120/AN130 Generation) represents Gazoo Racing’s factory-tuned performance trim applied to Toyota's legendary mid-size double-cab pickup. Positioned above the standard Rocco/Revo and Z grades, the 2022 GR Sport features an aggressive front fascia with a black honeycomb mesh grille featuring bold block "TOYOTA" lettering, custom body-colored overfenders, blacked-out exterior trim and mirror caps, red GR-branded brake calipers, side steps, and exclusive 18-inch black alloy wheels. Under the bonnet, this specification utilizes Toyota's proven 2.4-liter (2,393cc) 2GD-FTV inline 4-cylinder turbocharged common-rail diesel engine, producing 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 400 Nm of low-end torque. Power is transmitted via a 6-speed Super ECT automatic transmission with sequential shift mode and steering wheel paddle shifters. It is equipped with a part-time 4WD system featuring an electronic high/low-range selector, Auto Limited-Slip Differential (Auto-LSD), and an electronic rear differential lock. Crucially, the GR Sport specification features monotube shock absorbers and retuned front/rear suspension springs designed to reduce body roll and improve high-speed dampening over corrugated or unpaved terrain.
