The 2019 Daihatsu Boon (M700S/M710S series) is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) subcompact 5-door hatchback jointly developed with Toyota (where it is badged as the Toyota Passo). Situated in the late third-generation lifecycle, the 2019 Boon features a compact, boxy footprint designed for exceptional urban maneuverability, low running costs, and maximum interior cabin space relative to its exterior length.Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.0-liter 1KR-FE 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 69 PS (68 hp) and 92 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels (2WD) or all four wheels (4WD) via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The powertrain features an eco-IDLE automatic stop-start system to optimize urban fuel efficiency.The lineup includes the standard Boon (X/G grades) with clean minimal styling, alongside the retro-styled Boon CILQ and two-tone Boon Style trims, which feature round LED headlights, a larger front grille, and contrast-colored roof options. Inside, the dash-mounted gear lever creates an open front floor layout with bench-style front seats, integrated storage trays, and an available Smart Assist III driver assistance camera.
