2019 Nissan Note e-POWER

The 2019 Nissan Note e-POWER (E12 Series) is a series-hybrid subcompact hatchback engineered for high fuel efficiency, urban agility, and responsive EV-like performance. Unlike conventional parallel hybrids where the combustion engine directly turns the drive wheels, the Note e-POWER uses its 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine (HR12DE) solely as an onboard generator to feed a 1.5 kWh battery and an electric drive motor. The primary drive comes from the EM57 electric motor, generating 109 PS (108 hp) and 254 Nm of instant torque to drive the wheels directly. This setup provides instant electric acceleration without requiring plug-in charging. Efficiency is enhanced by Nissan’s e-Pedal technology, which allows single-pedal acceleration and deceleration via strong regenerative braking. As a result, the hatchback achieves an exceptional fuel economy of 28.0 to 34.0 km/L (~2.9–3.6 L/100km). Visually, the 2019 model features Nissan’s V-Motion front grille with distinctive blue accenting to signal its electrified powertrain, sharp halogen or projector LED headlights, and aerodynamic body contouring. Because the compact battery pack is mounted under the front seats rather than the boot floor, the cabin retains class-leading legroom and flexible cargo space. Interior appointments vary by trim—ranging from the practical e-POWER X with fabric seating, to the upscale Medalist with premium suede/leather touches, and the sporty NISMO trim with aggressive body kits and tuned suspension. Safety features center on Nissan's active technology suite, including Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication, and an available 360-degree Around View Monitor.
