2010 Subaru Outback

The 2010 Subaru Outback (BR Generation) marks the debut of the fourth-generation crossover station wagon, which substantially grew in physical dimensions to offer class-leading cabin space and legroom. Built to bridge the gap between traditional estate cars and utility SUVs, the 2010 Outback features a rugged exterior profile highlighted by projector headlights, wrap-around tail lamps, integrated roof rails with swing-in-place crossbars, and a raised stance. Trim levels range from the volume-selling 2.5i and 2.5i Limited to the high-performance 3.6R and 3.6R Limited variants. Under the bonnet, the 2010 Outback is powered by horizontally opposed Boxer engines: a revised 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine producing 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) and 230 Nm of torque, or a smooth 3.6-liter naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine generating 256 PS (253 hp / 188 kW) and 335 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT for the 2.5L, and a conventional 5-speed automatic with manual shift controls for the 3.6R. Power is permanently distributed via Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. Inside, the cabin features a roomier environment with high-grade cloth or leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system on select trims, an electronic parking brake, and flexible 60/40 split-folding rear seats that open up a vast cargo bay.
