The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT Performance (ALA10 Fifth Generation) serves as the high-performance flagship of Lexus's completely redesigned RX crossover lineup. Built on the high-rigidity GA-K (Global Architecture-K) platform, the fifth-generation RX abandons its predecessor's V6 setup in favor of a sophisticated, electrified turbocharged powertrain. Visually differentiated by its exclusive F SPORT Performance styling package, the RX 500h features a bold seamless "Spindle Body" front grille with dark metallic mesh, aggressive front lower valances, black-out side mirror caps, gloss black roof rails, dynamic 21-inch 10-spoke matte black alloy wheels, and a full-width blade LED rear taillight signature. Under the bonnet, the RX 500h debuts Lexus's first-ever performance hybrid system. It combines a 2.4-liter T24A-FTS turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with a high-output front electric motor and a rear high-power eAxle electric motor integrated into a 1.9 kWh bipolar Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery. Total system output is an impressive 371 PS (366 hp / 273 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. Power is delivered through a 6-speed direct-shift automatic transmission (replacing traditional hybrid e-CVTs) and sent to the wheels via Lexus's revolutionary DIRECT4 intelligent all-wheel-drive system, which dynamically adjusts front-to-rear torque distribution (from 100:0 to 20:80) within milliseconds to optimize cornering traction and high-speed stability. Inside, the driver-centric cabin features the Tazuna Cockpit layout, incorporating a 14.0-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a full-color Head-Up Display (HUD), a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, dynamic ambient lighting, multi-contour F SPORT leatherette/suede sports seats, aluminum pedals, adaptive variable suspension (AVS), and Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) with up to 4 degrees of rear-wheel steering.
